Games on Unreal engine soon on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch


At the last Conference of Korea Games Conference Epic Games have announced that a set of developer tools for their popular Unreal Engine will soon be able to also "generate iOS-applications." In other words, one of the most popular and advanced engines will soon delight us amazingly beautiful picture on the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

The company demonstrated a demo-version of the game, working on a new engine called Epic Citadel (iTunes) at the presentation of Apple, which was presented to the new iPod touch. Then they released a free demo version of the application in the App Store. Since then, the demo has been downloaded about a million times - so the schedule was struck by fans of the apple devices.

Epic Games is launching its suite iOS-developers believe in the potential of mobile gaming devices and mobile store. The company is also interested in the platform Android, but is not reported when their engine will support this OS.

  5. I'm interested to see how the Nintendo's of the world respond. If the platform is the name of the game, how will the Wii and XBox compete with phones everyone has?

  6. А я всё равно считаю, что айпад это фигня. Платить более 30 штук, за возможность "посидеть в сортире с интернетом?" увольте!
